It’s the most wonderful time of the year!

The Lord Mayor’s Christmas Carols returns to spread joy to the world with a dazzling evening of high kicks, high notes and hijinks.

Hosted by our very own queen of Christmas, Naomi Price, the unmissable event welcomes a cavalcade of superstars from stage, screen and song to entertain audiences of all ages, including Sheppard, Johnny Manuel and Stefanie Jones (Mary Poppins).

Swing on This, Australia’s kings of swing featuring Luke Kennedy, Matt LeeBen Mingay and Bert LaBonté, making his debut performance with the quartet, croon their way through Christmas classics and festive favourites.

Powerhouse vocalists Lai UtovouPrinnie Stevens and Rachel Everett-Jones, soprano Eva Kong, and Alinta Chidzey (star of Moulin Rouge! The Musical) all make their Lord Mayor’s Christmas Carols debut this year, alongside popular returnees Jem Cassar-DaleyIrena Lysiuk, Angela Fabian and Shannon Kettleton.

Audience favourites The Jingle Belles return in 2022 with 18 elite, hand-picked dancers set to dazzle under the direction of superstar choreographer Kate Wormald.

The cast is completed by the 2022 Little Red Quartet Gabriella Boumford, Api Naisarani, Danielle Remulta and Alex Watson, our 40-voice Little Red Choir led by choral director extraordinaire Alex Van den Broek, our 24-piece orchestra and our adorable children’s ensemble The Mistle Toes

 

The 2022 Lord Mayor’s Christmas Carols is on Saturday 10 December at Riverstage in the City Botanic Gardens. Gates open at 4pm and pre-show commences at 6pm.

The 2022 Lord Mayor’s Christmas Carols is presented in association with Transurban and ANZ and proudly supports the Lord Mayor’s Charitable Trust.

Tickets go on sale on Monday 21 November at 9am via Brisbane City Council’s website and cost $5 each (under 18 years are free).

 

This event contains fireworks (bright lights/colours, sudden loud sounds), swirling and flashing light displays (no strobe), loud music and extra special roving guests interacting with the audience (may or may not startle with jolly exclamations of Ho! Ho! Ho!).

This event is Auslan-interpreted with a dedicated area for Auslan users, audio-described and captioned on-screen. To find out more about Auslan accessibility, watch this video.

There is flat-floor access available and dedicated space for wheelchair users.

 

The 2022 Lord Mayor’s Christmas Carols is broadcast in its entirety on Friday 16 December 2022 at 7.30pm on 9 Queensland and again nationwide on Christmas Day morning. It is also available to watch nationally on 9Now.
