Join the team for the Lord Mayor’s Christmas Carols 2024!
An initiative of Brisbane City Council and produced by The Little Red Company, the Lord Mayor’s Christmas Carols is an absolute must-attend festive event that highlights world-class talent and delights audiences with uplifting music, special surprises and bucketloads of heart. The event takes place at Brisbane’s Riverstage and is broadcast to a national audience of more than 1 million viewers every year.
We are seeking expressions of interest for the following roles in this year’s event:
- Little Red Carols Choir
- Little Red Carols Quartet (emerging vocalists)
- The Jingle Belles (professional dancers)
- The Mistle Toes (children’s ensemble)
The Little Red Company is fiercely dedicated to representation and inclusion. We strongly encourage people of all cultural backgrounds and gender expressions or with access requirements to apply.
What will I need to submit my application?
This application will take you approximately 10-15 minutes to complete. You will receive an email with a code when you first log on – don’t forget to check your junk folder!
When you are asked to upload a photo, please choose a clear headshot style image of the applicant – head and shoulders only. Parents/Guardians: please use your child’s name in the applications for The Mistle Toes – there is a dedicated section to input parent/guardian names and contact details.

When is the Lord Mayor’s Christmas Carols 2024?
The Lord Mayor will officially launch Christmas in Brisbane later in the year, so we can’t give the exact date away just yet! As always, it will take place in early December.
What is the age limit for performers?
Children auditioning for The Mistle Toes must be 6 to 12 years old.
Auditionees for Little Red Carols Choir must be 16 years and over.
Auditionees for The Jingle Belles and Little Red Carols Quartet must be 18 years and over.
Are these paid positions?
The Jingle Belles and Carols Quartet are paid positions. The Mistle Toes and Carols Choir are voluntary roles.
When are the auditions?
Little Red Carols Quartet – Wednesday 21 and Thursday 22 August
Jingle Belles – Saturday 24 August
Mistle Toes – Sunday 25 August
Little Red Carols Choir – Monday 26 August
Where will the auditions be held?
Auditions will take place at Thomas Dixon Centre (home of Queensland Ballet), 406 Montague Road, West End. There is street-front access into the building and lift access into the room.
What if I have additional access requirements?
There is a section within the application form to let us know if you have any specific access requirements so we can support you through the audition process. We love working with performers from diverse backgrounds and strongly encourage you to apply!
