Lord Mayor's Christmas Carols

The Lord Mayor’s Christmas Carols returns to light up Brisbane’s Riverstage on Saturday 2 December 2023 in an inclusive, accessible and show-stopping celebration for ‘every body’.

An initiative of Brisbane City Council, the two-hour spectacle of song and celebration will reach more people than ever before with Victoria Park / Barrambin also presenting a free, live simulcast of the event on the big screen.

Produced by The Little Red Company and hosted by Queensland’s first lady of song, Naomi Price, the unmissable event welcomes a cavalcade of superstars including Dami Im performing songs from her upcoming Christmas album, and direct from Broadway to Brisbane, entertainment icon Caroline O’Connor AM making her Lord Mayor’s Christmas Carols debut.

Fan favourite Johnny Manuel returns to Brisbane following his show-stopping performance of O Holy Night in 2022, Loren Hunter makes her Carols debut after wowing audiences in Six: The Musical, and Jack Chambers returns to a hometown audience fresh from playing Bert in Mary Poppins The Musical

In a guaranteed showstopper, superstar soprano Rebecca Cassidy sets the stage alight with an epic performance combining rock and classical music.

Australia’s kings of swing, Swing on This, featuring Luke Kennedy, Matt Lee, Ben Mingay and Bert LaBonté return to croon their way through Christmas classics, and spellbinding songstresses Irena Lysiuk, Alisha Todd and Brooke Schubert join forces for their spin on festive favourites.

Audience favourites The Jingle Belles return in 2023 under the direction of acclaimed choreographer Kate Wormald, as does Santa who is planning to make an epic entrance. They’ll be joined by special guest artists Pink Matter, Tama Laei, Nalingurrie Projects, Centenary State High School and Toowong State School Signing Choir.
