Join the team for the Lord Mayor’s Christmas Carols 2022!
With a jingle and a Swing-le, our 2021 program took the Lord Mayor’s Christmas Carols from a lovely family get-together to an absolute must-attend event that highlighted our world-class local talent and delighted audiences with uplifting music, special surprises and a bucketload of heart.
We were thrilled to showcase the best of Brisbane in a seasonal celebration that feels like home – from the outdoor setting of the City Botanic Gardens to the festive music, entertainment and camaraderie of community. We can’t wait to do it all again this year!
We are seeking expressions of interest for the following roles in this year’s event:
- Little Red Choir
- Little Red Carols Quartet (emerging vocalists)
- The Jingle Belles (professional dancers)
- The Mistle Toes (children’s ensemble)
- Crew
- Volunteers

When is the Lord Mayor’s Christmas Carols 2022?
The Lord Mayor will officially launch Christmas in Brisbane later in the year, so we can’t give the date away just yet. But let’s just say, it’ll be similarly timed to last year’s event…
What is the age limit for performers?
Any children auditioning this year must be aged 6 to 12 years old. All other roles are for applicants aged 18 years and above. We will announce opportunities for young performers aged 13 to 17 later in the year.
Are these paid positions?
All roles are voluntary with the exception of Crew, The Jingle Belles and the Little Red Carols Quartet.
When are the auditions?
Choir – Monday 25 and Tuesday 26 July
Quartet – Tuesday 26 and Thursday 28 July
Children – Saturday 13 August
Dancers – Sunday 14 August
Where will the auditions be held?
Auditions will take place at Judith Wright Arts Centre, 420 Brunswick Street, Fortitude Valley. There is street-front access into the building and lift access to the audition room.
